Susannah, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2001, my deep love for animals and their well-being helped me to adopt a plant-based life. I find true joy in being compassionate and that’s why I started JoyFull Mealz in 2019. With a simple idea and a lot of support, I started cooking for a handful of clients every week. I wanted to bring organic vegan food to people in my community. I wanted JoyFull Mealz to take the guesswork out of what to eat every day for busy Angelenos. After some time, I started catering events as well. I am proud to be one of the very first companies in America to do 100% vegan catering! Today, despite the Covid-19 pandemic JoyFull Mealz is growing and serving more customers than ever. I offer contactless delivery and payments too. Being able to be of service to my community during these challenging times is truly a blessing.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
During my first year in business, I was also working a full-time job in sales. Finding time on the weekends and after work, and in between my husband and my son. But if you’re passionate about something you make the time for it.

I offer organic plant-based meal prep plans for residents of LA county. I also do plant-based catering for events of all sizes. I am very proud that I am one first vegan caterers in Los Angeles. I am proud to offer completely customizable mealz and I specialize in gluten-free and keto diets.
What were you like growing up?
I am an only child and I spent most of my childhood alone and being immersed in an imaginary world. I was always very creative and free-spirited. I loved animals since as far back as I can remember. We always had pets that we rescued in one form or another. They usually showed up on our doorstep and my parents would let me keep them. This must explain the three dogs I have now!
