Meet Beth Eisele

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Eisele.

Hi Beth, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My fitness journey started about 30 years ago. I started teaching aerobics because I absolutely hated doing cardio exercise. The thought of running on a treadmill or riding a stationary bike seemed like such a boring task. An hour of doing it felt like six. At that time, high impact aerobics had just started its craze and I jumped on board. I was hooked: loud music, great energy and when that hour was over, I felt like it had just started. That was what I was looking for. I got myself certified and started teaching classes. What I didn’t realize at the time was that teaching and exercising would also change me. It would come to help me grow, heal and truly find myself again. During this time, I was in a dark place. Things were not good in my marriage and my mom was dying of lung cancer. The gym soon became my haven and my first lesson about the power of exercise. Not just the physical aspect, but the healing aspect of it. I would get up in front of that room, turn on my music and the energy that became my class was overwhelming. By the end, nothing had changed in my world except that my body felt great, my mind felt sharp and the feeling of how I had made others feel was more rewarding than anything I had experienced. Then my mom died. I was only 27 years old with a baby boy and a bad marriage. I felt lost. My son and the gym/exercise was my solace. Aside from the teaching part of my job, I also did group exercise programming for multiple clubs and private training.

Once I understood how much exercise had helped me, I knew that every single person has a story and maybe the gym was their safe haven too. I made it my mission to help as many people as I could. I would love to say that from that moment on I was a changed woman; that I got out of the bad marriage and lived happily ever after; but that was not the case. I was still learning about my own strengths and breaking points. I gave birth to my beautiful daughter, filled my time with my kids and work for several more years before I had the strength to end the marriage. I was damaged, I won’t lie. Raising my kids and making sure they were happy, confident and on their way to becoming great adults was my priority. I was living on the east coast and in 2006, I decided to move to California and start all over again. It wasn’t until I looked back on my life when I realized what exercise was and is still doing for me. It didn’t change my situation; It changed me. It wasn’t about my appearance, it was about my attitude. I was looking at it as my job and my escape but ultimately, it was healing me. It built my confidence and empowered me. It made me stronger even when I felt weak. It made me believe in myself more than I ever had. I knew that this was my path and my west coast transformational training for others began and continues to grow.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A smooth road, I believe is a bit boring and does not build character. My choice to move across the country caused a lot of struggle. My daughter was ten and my son was 15. He wanted to stay back and finish high school. I let him. It was one of the hardest decisions of my life and caused for many tears. I took my daughter away from everyone she has ever known and split my family apart. In my heart, I knew it was the right decision and fast forward 15 years later, my kids are all grown, they are thriving and have both said to me that moving to CA was the best thing I ever did. As a parent, there are always challenges but we need to trust in what we are doing no matter how hard it may seem. As far as business, anyone can start over again and be successful.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been in the fitness industry for almost 30 years. It is a passion that has only increased over the years. I teach, I train and I help people transform. I like to think of it as unconscious recovery. An opportunity for people to find and experience the strength they truly possess and create the life they want. I have also done group exercise programming for multiple health clubs on the east and west coast as well as consulting for new clubs. A few months ago, I was approached about writing a book and am currently working on that. It is a book geared towards women and how to balance life and stay strong and confident.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
An equal balance of pride, passion, confidence and happiness.
