Meet Ani Kresse of Ani’s Voice Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ani Kresse.

Ani, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Music has always been an essential part of my life. I grew up in a small town in Austria, learned to play the flute, violin and piano at an early age.

At the age of 14, I discovered my love for Soul Music and singing. Shortly after I joined the school band and formed another group outside of school.

Singing became such an essential part of my life, that I decided to become a professional singer. After graduating High School, I studied music (major “Voice’) at the “University of Music and Performing Arts” in Vienna.

In my last year of my University studies, I already started teaching private classes and have done so ever since.

My musical journey leads me to live in Vienna, Berlin, New York and now Los Angeles. I have worked with numerous producers and musicians all over the world and have been teaching Voice, Piano, Songwriting and Music Theory in schools and privately for 10 years now.

I simply love sharing my knowledge and passion for music.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road at all… One of the first obstacles I had to overcome was to work with teachers that couldn’t really appreciate and work with my unique voice. They tried to turn me into somebody I was not. I had to learn to listen and trust my inner voice, something I tell my students all the time.

Another obstacle has been, that the music industry is a still a male-dominated world and producers often try to take advantage of young, inexperienced singers.

The recent Harvey Weinstein scandal reminded me of my own journey… Even though I was never seriously harassed or abused but definitely had to walk away from certain opportunities to avoid situations like what we just heard on the news.

Ani’s Voice Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in private one on one voice coaching for all ages and levels.

What is essential for me and what sets me apart from other teachers is, that I lay emphasis on working with my students in a holistic way.

When taking classes with me, people learn to work with their BODY, MIND and SOUL.

My teaching toolbox includes a big variety of BREATHING and VOCAL TECHNIQUE exercises, kinesthetic exercises that enhance body awareness, visualization, meditation and relaxation techniques, as well as motivational and spiritual EMPOWERMENT, that helps individuals to overcome fears, inhibitions and negative thought patterns.

I am determined to help my clients find their own unique voice, uncover their hidden potentials and fully STEP INTO their greatness!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I feel successful when I see that my students make tremendous progress and express their gratitude for the help I provide them with.

It makes me very happy when my clients realize that they have so much more potential than they thought and when they finally start truly loving their own voice.
