Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Mousa.
Hi Joe, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story didn’t start with a business plan or real strategy to solely make profits. It started with loss, trauma, and the fight to rebuild myself. The biggest turning points in my life was watching my father go through dementia and eventually losing him. That experience changes you. It makes you feel powerless in a way that’s hard to explain, and it also makes you think deeply about the brain, memory, and what we take for granted until it starts slipping away.
After his passing I decided to join the military, I went through an incident while I was in the Army, that caused me to have a seizure and ride a Medavac, that left a lasting impact on me mentally. I left the Army as a disabled veteran. I was carrying things I didn’t know how to process, and instead of dealing with it the right way, I fell into addiction. Regular opiate use to relieve my chronic back pain turned into Fentanyl use. For a while, I was surviving, literally, not living. And the hardest part was that I knew who I was deep down, but I couldn’t access that version of myself consistently. After diving deep within, I was able to overcome one of the worst addictions one could have. Without any treatment, without any additional substances, I sat with myself and healed from within.
Overcoming addiction was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it became the foundation of everything I’ve built since. After dealing with addiction, I became obsessed with learning how the mind works, not just motivation, but focus, stress regulation, brain chemistry, and what it actually takes to feel stable, sharp, and present again. I wanted to rebuild my life with clarity and purpose, and that meant taking mental performance seriously.
That’s where NootriMind was born. I didn’t create it to sell products, I created it because I know what it feels like to struggle mentally, and I know how powerful it is when you finally feel clear again. The mission is personal: to help people feel sharper, more consistent, and more in control of their mind, whether they’re building a business, chasing goals, or simply trying to show up as their best self.
Today, we operate primarily online and serve customers across all 50 states, and we’re actively building partnerships and expanding into communities like Los Angeles, where wellness and entrepreneurship are thriving. I’m proud of where I am today, but more than anything, I’m grateful, because everything I’ve lived through has become fuel to build something that can genuinely help people. To hear how NootriMind has become a daily ritual in many lives, is truly a blessing.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smoothest road. Many obstacles! One of the biggest challenges has been building this largely on my own while also finishing my Bachelor’s degree and immediately stepping into a Master’s program. Balancing school, business, and everything else life throws at you forces you to become extremely disciplined, there were plenty of late nights and even later nights now, and moments where I questioned whether I was stretching myself too thin.
Another challenge has been the lack of support I expected early on. When you start something from scratch, you realize quickly that not everyone who cheers for you will actually stand beside you when it gets hard. People get quiet. Some disappear. That part was tough, but it also taught me something important: you can’t build a mission-driven brand while depending on validation from other people.
Those obstacles shaped me and honestly strengthened the business. They forced me to become consistent, self-reliant, and clear about why I’m doing this. And now, every win feels earned because I know what it took to keep going when it would’ve been easier to stop.
As you know, we’re big fans of NootriMind. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
