Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Ettinger.
Hi Jill, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
While studying journalism in college, I immersed myself in the emergent natural food industry out of an interest in organic and vegan food. That interest led me to a career in sales and marketing, where I had the privilege of working with some of the biggest names in the natural foods industry, including Whole Foods Market, Clif Bar, Yogi Tea, Tofurky, and Sambazon. For more than a decade, I worked to build awareness through content marketing, event production, and direct sales. I was the director of the Socially Responsible Business Awards at the Natural Products Expo East tradeshow from 2000-2009 and worked on numerous other events for the natural products industry.
In 2009, I returned to my writing roots and have since been focused on developing and implementing strategies for all manner of content, with a focus on search optimization and audience development, producing more than 10,000 articles and videos and building some of the biggest impact media brands including VegNews, The Livekindly Collective, and Alicia Silverstone’s The Kind Life.
In 2022, I launched Ethos, the leading digital media and e-commerce platform focused on the intersection of personal and planetary well-being. I also still work with individuals, brands, and organizations focused on making the world a more sustainable, ethical, and healthier place. My professional offerings encompass digital content strategy and production, comprehensive brand development, publicity, and media relations, as well as event production.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t know that life or business is ever a completely smooth road, but the obstacles have a way of evening out over time. That said, we have faced challenges, chiefly people not wanting to make noticeable changes. Part of that is because industries make it all too easy to keep choosing products that are bad for us and the planet.
